同心县地处宁夏中部干旱带核心区，早在新石器时代就有人类在此活动，西汉时即设置县府，命名"三水县"，唐、宋、元、明、清历代都有建制，至今建县达2200多年。同心历来是一个多民族共同居住的大家庭，秦汉时的匈奴、鲜卑，唐代的吐蕃、吐谷浑、突厥，宋代的党项人，元代的回族、蒙古族先后定居预旺、韦州和同心等地，明清两代，满族、汉族等民族也开始在境内从事农牧业生产和社会活动。在历史的发展进程中，同心回族与生活在这片土地上的其他各民族碰撞、融合、包容、理解，水乳交融，和睦相处，互相影响，共同创造了璀璨夺目的文化生态。(Tongxin County is located in the core area of Arid Zone in middle Ningxia, and human activities were found there early in the Neolithic age. In the Western Han Dynasty, it was established as a county, named "Sanshui County"; and in the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, it also had a county system. So it has become a county for more than 2,200 years.Tongxin has always been a big family where a number of ethnic groups live together, including Xiongnu and Xianbei in the Qin and Han dynasties, Tubo, Tuguhun, and Tujue in the Tang Dynasty, Tangut in the Song Dynasty, Hui and Mongolia in the Yuan Dynasty (the people settled down in Yuwang, Weizhou and Tongxin, etc.); and in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Manchu and Han people had also engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry production and social activities in this region.In the development process of the history, the Hui people in Tongxin have collided, blended, tolerated and understood other ethnic groups living in this land, and they have lived together in harmony and in peace.
