百年敦煌学(The Century-old Tunhuangology)

敦煌学仍是一门发展中的学科。主要是揭示敦煌、河西及至我国古代社会、中亚古代社会和中西交通等历史的本来面貌和规律；为研究我国古代某一局部地区的历史、社会状况提供了一个极为难得的典型。樊锦诗先生这样说：敦煌莫高窟以汉地文化为基础，以丝绸之路为纽带，以开放的姿态，广泛地吸纳了多种文化，见证了中外文化的交流。(Tunhuangology is a developing discipline.It is dedicated to revealing the truth and patterns of Dunhuang, Hexi corridor, ancient Chinese society, ancient societies of Central Asia as well as the transportation between East and West, in order to provide a rare exemplar of the history and social conditions of a certain region of ancient China.Fan Jingshi said,Mogao Caves in Dunhuang is based on Chinese culture, connected to the outside world via the Silk Road, and broadly absorbs different cultures and bears witness to the inter-cultural communications with an open mindset.)
