散曲，是一种同音乐结合的长短句歌词。金元时期，起源于北方，故而散曲又称北曲。它包括小令、套数和介于两者之间的带过曲等几种主要形式。词又称曲子词、长短句、诗余，是配合宴乐乐曲而填写的歌诗，词牌是词的调子的名称，不同的词牌在总句数、句数，每句的字数、平仄上都有规定。本书选取了有名的散曲和词，并配有作者介绍，译文以及赏析。(Sanqu (a type of verse popular in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, with tonal patterns modelled on tunes drawn from folk music) is long and short sentence combined with music. In Jin and Yuan Dynasties, it was originated from the north and therefore also known as the Sanqu or Beiqu. It includes several formats such as Xiaoling, Taoshu and Daiguoqu between Xiaoling and Taoshu. Also known as Quzi Ci, short & long sentence and rhymed verse, it is the singing poetry to match with banquet entertainment. Ci Pai is the name of the tunes to which Ci is composed. There are requirements on different Ci Pai regarding the total sentence number, sentence number and word number of each sentence as well as level and oblique tones.
