温莎的风流娘儿们 (The Merry Wives of Windsor)

《温莎的风流娘儿们》三幕喜歌剧，另译为《乐天的妻子》，莫森塔尔编剧，奥托·尼古拉谱曲，1849年3月9 日在柏林宫廷歌剧院首次公演，由作曲家亲任指挥，大获成功。可是只指挥3次后，在5月11日因急病去世，享年只有39岁。1900年3月9日在纽约大都会歌剧院初次演出。尼古拉在寄给父亲的信中表示说："我的新歌剧在作曲中便已经制造出无数的快乐。"事实上，他已经把所有获得的经验注入到了《温莎的风流娘们儿》中(The Merry Wives of Windsor is a three acts of comic opera, with another translation as Cheerful Wife, which was dramatized by Mohsen Tal and the music is composed by Otto Nicholas. The first public performance was personally commanded by composer in Concert Hall Berlin on March 9, 1849 with great success. However, after three times of commands the composer was dead because of acute illness on May 11 with only 39 years old. It was debut in the Metropolitan Opera House on March 9, 1900. The letter that Nicholas sent to his father has written: my new opera has produced numerous happiness during composing. Actually he has put all his experience into The Merry Wives of Windsor.)
