《百子全书》，收儒23家，兵1O家、法6家，农1家、术数2家、杂28家、小说16家、道14家。最早记载我国文化学术的典籍是《六经》。其出世稍次于"经"，而价值与影响，有足与"经"相抗衡者，惟周秦诸子而已。原诸子立说著书，要以一己的思想学说以广播于天下。两千年来我国之民族思想、社会文化、学者著述，几无不受诸子的影响。清道光中，湖北崇文官书局集周秦至明代的子书汇成丛书，名《子书百家》，于光绪元年(1875)刊行。本书据民国8年(1921)，上海扫叶山房刻本精印。
